OSRS - 1-99 hunter guide

Hello and welcome to my level 1 to 99 hunter guide.

In this guide I will tell the main methods of training hunter, some money making methods and alternative methods.

 

To start off hunter, I recommend doing the varrock museum quiz. This takes approximately 10 minutes and gets you level 1 to 9 hunter and slayer.

If you do not want to do this quiz for a reason, you can start training your hunter at the crimson swift birds. This requires a bird snare to do so. The Crimson swift birds are located south east of the feldip hills.

For level 9 to 19 you want to catch copper longtails. These can be found north of the Eagle Peak are and require a bird snare to do so.

From level 19 to 30 you want to catch tropical wagtails. These are east of the crimson swift birds. You want to bring 2 birdsnares with you to speed up the leveling.

From level 30 to 50 you want to catch swamp lizards. This requires a rope and a small fishing net. The lizards can be found south east of Canifis. This requires the completion of the quest nature spirit. This should gain you around 50k EXP/H.

From level 50 to 60 you want to catch orange salamanders. This requres the same setup as the lizards, and you might want to take a second pair of rope and fishing nets with you. Orange salamanders can be found north east of river elid, east of the shantay pass. Since this is in the desert area, filled water skins and desert robes are recommended. Tip: You can bring a knife and use the knife on cacti to refill your waterskin without banking. This method should gain you around 75k EXP/H.

From level 60 to 70 you want to catch red salamanders. These salamanders are north of the observatory. You can setup 4 traps at once, so bring around 5 traps to be safe. You should gain around 100k EXP/H using this method.

From level 70 to 75 you want to catch black salamanders. The black salamanders are in the wilderness, north of the chaos temple. If you have access to a certain skill world, this helps a lot against pk-ers. This method should get you around 130k EXP/H.

From level 75 to 99 you want to catch black chin chompas. These are also in the wilderness and thus you want to bank them regularly. 

 

From level 50 you can start catching implings in Puro Puro. This does require the quest Lost city, but can be a decent money maker and exp per hour.

From level 63 you can start catching red chin chompas. These are not in the wilderness, but these areas are usually pretty crowded. Red chin chompas are nice to keep for quick range exp or to sell in the Grand Exhange.

 

An alternative method to train hunter passively is by doing bird house runs. This does require the quest Bone Voyage and your crafting level has to scale with your hunter level.

From level 5 hunter and crafting you can make regular birdhouses. This will gain you 280 hunter exp per house and the chance for a bird nest is 10%.

From level 15 crafting and level 14 hunter you can make oak birdhouses. This will gain you 420 hunter exp per house and the chance for a bird nest is 12.50%.

From level 25 crafting and level 24 hunter you can make willow birdhouses. This will gain you hunter 560 exp per house and the chance for a bird nest is 15%.

From level 35 crafting and level 34 hunter you can make teak birdhouses. This will gain you 700 hunter exp per house and the chance for a bird nest is 17.50%.

From level 45 crafting and level 44 hunter  you can make maple birdhouses. This will gain you hunter 820 exp per house and the chance for a bird nest is 20%.

From level 50 crafting and level 49 hunter you can make mohagany birdhouses. This will gain you hunter 960 exp per house and the chance for a bird nest is 22.50%.

From level 60  crafting and level 59 hunter you can make yew birdhouses. This will gain you hunter 1020 exp per house and the chance for a bird nest is 25%.

From level 75 crafting and level 74 hunter you can make magic birdhouses. This will gain you hunter 1140 exp per house and the chance for a bird nest is 27.50%.

From level 90 crafting and level 89 hunter you can make redwood birdhouses. This will gain you hunter 1200 exp per house and the chance for a bird nest is 30%.
